WIP Big Bang/WIP Reverse Bang 2025 Round: Changes To The Schedule & FAQ

WE HAVE MADE CHANGES TO THE SCHEDULE AND FAQ - PLEASE READ!
So the other mods and I had talked about tweaking the schedule when I realized Check-In #4 was supposed to go live August 6th, which is less than two weeks after Check-In #3 had ended so that made no sense. We had planned on doing it for the 2026 round but I'm going to institute the changes now.

Basically, we are getting rid of Rough Draft check-ins, and substituting Check-In #4 for that. We are moving Check-In #4 to the end of August, and this check-in is open to everyone. WIPBB writers and WIPRB artists as well as the WIPBB artists and WIPRB authors are allowed to check in during Check-In #4. Basically it's still optional, but this will give us a better idea of if you're ready to post or if you have any questions.

Posting Claims dates are going to stay the same, but this round for WIPRB participants, we are asking that if you are simply submitting your finished art and not getting a fic for it you pick a September or early to mid October posting date; if you are getting fic for your art, we want those later dates to be available so fic writers will have time to write the fic and get it beta read (optional but recommended).

We will have a "Final Check-In" of sorts that will be open during the entire posting period (September 8th to January 1st, which is when I will close the form). Basically, the Final Check-In is a form you will fill out with the link to your bragging rights post on Tumblr or Dreamwidth (or, if you are a WIPBB artist or a WIPRB writer who is not posting your own bragging rights, a link to your Tumblr, Dreamwidth or AO3 post). This is important, as it lets us know you have finished your project for WIPBB/WIPRB.

We also made edits to the FAQ that were going to go into effect in the 2026 round, but I am posting it this round since it's easier to copy/paste everything instead of just tweaking little bits. They are now pinned on the Tumblr and Dreamwidth blogs.

2025 Reveals!

I'm delighted to announce that the archive is now open. Go forth to read, view, and comment!

As always, if there are any problems, please send an email so we can follow up privately. I hope there are many works for you to enjoy in this year's collection.

I've extended the anonymous period a little bit because of delays, so creators will now be revealed on August 16th. The collection will remain open for treats (of any length) and makeup assignments.

SFBB15: Round 15 Coming Soon

Hello, everyone! I can't believe that we're already in August! Before you know it September 1st (and the start of Round FIFTEEN of Small Fandoms Bang) will be here! I wanted to let everyone know for sure that we're a go this year, and reiterate the most important dates for the next couple of months:

Sept 1: Author Sign-Ups Open
Nov 1: Artist Sign-Ups Open (And First Author Check-In)

Participation on DW: A reminder that, even though we’re running this challenge exclusively on DW now, you don’t need to have a DW account to participate here. We currently encourage people to participate from many different platforms using OpenID and that will continue. If you don't have a DW account you may still comment to the sign-up post(s), check-in posts, etc with OpenID. So whether you participate from LJ or Tumblr or someplace else, you are still welcome and able to play in this small fandom sandbox, and I sincerely and wholeheartedly hope that you will continue to do so.

Something I learned in a previous round is that, while you can ‘participate’ in a community with OpenID (ie, comment to entries), you CANNOT post to the community. You are still welcome to participate, just know that you will need to have someone else post your fic/art submission on your behalf when that time comes. I am happy to do so, but you may also ask your author/artist counterpart to do so. I’m very sorry for this hiccup.

If you have any comments about the last round, or questions/suggestions for the coming round, please feel free to leave them in a reply to this post. (Comments will be screened.)
