Holy hell. I have loved this manga for like... four years now, and we’re finally getting developments that I’ve been waiting for for so long it’s wild to think they’re actually happening. Some of this stuff is so juicy and emotionally intense it makes my shipfic I wrote in 2014 seem incredibly restrained. Chihayafuru is like a period drama; the levels of yearning and repression are so thick that the touch of hands takes 200 chapters to build up to and it’s the most searing thing I've ever witnessed? God.
